Happy new year, scrappy friends! Laurie here today to share with you a layout I made using my Autumn Hayride kit from The International Scrapbook Garden. Even though this kit is fall-themed, I actually used it to scrapbook a picture that was not fall at all!

AutumnHayrideLaurieBonus1.jpg

This was a family photo of us at my daughter's baptism in the spring. I thought the flowers, papers, and embellishments were formal enough for this photo without being so "fall". And the Creative Embellishments chipboard reminded me of a family tree. That's what I love about The International Scrapbook Garden! Everything is so versatile!

I was really excited to use the Prima fabric letters on this layout, but because they were so bright white, I sprayed them with the Lindy's Starburst spray in Green with Envy Green. It worked great and the letters still had some really nice shimmer from the spray.

I also used the Kaisercraft die-cut that came in one of the bonus kits. The pattern of the die-cut worked well with the pattern of the background paper I chose. And the die-cut worked perfectly in my Spellbinders Grand Calibur! I'll definitely be using this die-cut again!

Another thing I like about the Autumn Hayride kit is that it comes with so many journaling tags! I had no shortage of places to write where I needed to write!

I didn't add anything from my stash to this layout. Everything you see is part of the Autumn Hayride main kit and bonus kits. So if you like what you see, head on over to the shop and pick up your own Autumn Hayride kit today!

A little birdie told me that the Jan/Feb kits are coming soon, and I can't wait. But in the meantime I am still having fun playing with this kit!

Until next time - Laurie

New Year Card.jpg

Happy 2018 from all of us at the International Scrapbook Garden to all of you!

What is your resolution this year?  One of my scrappy resolutions is to think of new and creative ways to use products that I have had around for a while!  This card features paper from Maja Design's Home for the Holidays 6 x 6 inch papers, combined with the Toolshed Kit: The Spider's Web, along with a few bits and bobs from my stash!

I used a sketch from fellow design team member Lanette Erickson, which was designed for a 12 x 12 layout and translated it into my "miniature layout", a 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2 inch card!  Lanette is truly one of the most amazing mixed media artists I have ever met.

The clock is from the Spider's Web Kit and is one of the last pieces I have from the great sheet of stickers from the Kaisercraft 13th Hour Sticker Sheet.  The mist that I used was also in this wonderful kit.  It is from Lindy's Starburst Spray line - Canna Lily Burnt Orange.

The letters and the hand and ticket ephemera are all from Tim Holtz.  The ephemera is from the Christmas 2017 Ephemera pack.  Also, I drew the blue pen line with a pen from my collection (using a ruler!).

We all wish you a wonderful new year!  Since we know you will need scrappy supplies, consider joining the International Scrapbook Garden Kit Club.  There are amazing kits to choose from.  I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!  Or if you prefer, buy ala carte from the store.

Welcome 2018

Hi Bloggers!

Another year has gone by and in a few days we are meeting up with 2018.

To Welcome 2018 I made a calendar holder.  I made it using the fall-themed kit Autumn Hayride.

AutumnHayrideLone4.jpg

 I made it as a Z-fold card.

I love this paper from Kaisercraft.  It reminds me of Summer, Spring and Autumn all at the same time.

Here I used the die that comes with the embellishment kit.

I love dies and this die is so useful in many ways.

Here you see one of  the many cute decorations in the kit from the Prima Amber Moon collection.

The heart boarder is made with a puncher I had.

"To a very special friend" is something I cut out from one of the papers
and put it on 3D foam to get the dimensional look.

This little coffee mug I just love!  Isn't it just so cute?

There are a lot of cute decorations in this kit!

Here I cut out a butterfly from one of the papers and put some crackle on it.
