Hey everyone Kim here, I'm back today to share another layout created using the January toolshed kit: Winter Adventures. This kit is filled with the Denim and Friends paper line from Maja Designs. It's great for masculine or winter pages.

Here is my layout:

This kit is filled with a lot of fun embellishments. The mixed media kit compliments everything so well. I used items from the main kit as well as the bonus embellishment and mixed media kits.

Here are some close up:

I used the Lindy's spray from the mixed media kit  for the background. I also used some gold mist from Prima and some white ink, both from my stash.

There are fun chipboard pieces in the main kit as well as the chipboard bonus kit. The chipboard pocket pieces are everything. To color mine and give it the distresses look, I just ran the chalk ink (in the main kit) lightly over the chipboard to get the desired color.

That star is real denim and was included in the kit. I just kinda stuffed it in the pocket. The button (also in the main kit) was added to make it look like a real pocket.

I also did a bit of masking to the background using the stencil in the main kit. Also showing more of the fun chipboard. I just used some navy blue embossing powder on it. The dry wall tape is from my stash. I just colored it using the same chalk ink from the kit.

Here are the kits I used for this layout:

That's all I have for today, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday, crafters! Today I have a layout I created for the International Scrapbook Garden Design Team, featuring the Toolshed: Winter Adventures kit.

The kit features the gorgeous Maja paper collection Denim and Friends, and I am over the moon for it. That polka dot paper I used for the title (Paisley B-side) may be my favorite paper. Ever. You don't get the full effect of it here, because I only had a scrap left over after creating my last project (Pure Delight), but I had to use up every little scrap. I know you scrappers know that feeling: when your heart does a little pitter patter of contentment when you find something you just luuurve.

The kit also includes goodies from 49&Market, Tim Holtz, Gabrielle Pollacco, and more. Scroll down for details and to the bottom for a complete list of products used.

I love the natural elements in this kit. They appeal to my rustic side and love of the natural world. Getting that on a scrapbook page is so exciting!

The barbed wire heart frame from Creative Embellishments is a fun way to frame our boys in our hearts!

The 49&Market Garden Seeds Flowers in Linen are beautiful paired Tim Holtz's wood slices and nature's glitter: mica flakes.

Gabrielle Pollacco was one of the first scrapbookers I discovered in the online scrapbooking community, and I was so excited to find one of her templates in the main kit!

I used the DecoArt Snow-Tex Snowflake Paste from the mixed media kit over the stencil and dry brushed over it with Kaisercraft's Kaisermist in Denim (also in the mixed media kit).

Happy Thursday!  Victoria here again with the fabulous new Tool Shed Kit: Winter Adventures!  This time in the Fairy Garden, I decided to take it off the page and make a fabulous box for one of the special guys in my life.

Everything I used, except the paper mache box, which is a 3 3/4 inch square box, is from the kit.

For the box I used:

  • Maja Designs paper  3 3/4 inch square
  • Creative Embellishments denim pocket (small)
  • Lindy's Sprays Flat Fabio - Tweedle Dee Denim
  • Kaisermists - Denim
  • Prima Art Ingredients Mica Flakes - Henna
  • Prima Chalk Ink - Farmers Jeans
  • Bella Floral self-adhesive blue flowers
  • Tim Holtz Ideology Quote Chips
  • Darice Rustic Snow Shovel
  • Wooden branch slices (yes they are real wood)
  • Bakers twine- brown

Let me show you a close up (ultra close up) of the chip board pocket, following misting.

I misted first with the Lindy's spray and let dry and then added the iridescent layer from the Kaisermist in denim.  You can also see I added the mica flakes.  You will need adhesive to attach these.  I prefer using liquid adhesive (Aleene's Tacky Glue)  If you make a nice pool of adhesive in your desired shape and shake the mica on, gently tapping off any excess, I find it works best.

I adhered the pocket with dimensional tape once it was completely dry.  For the wood slices, I used tacky glue again.  I attached to two on the right first and let them dry over night.  I added the third at an angle with tacky glue on the edge that is touching the other two and also the chip board pocket.  Isn't the flower amazing?  Look at the color in the center!  It reminds me of fresh blueberries.  Just gorgeous.

For the shovel I wrapped the handle with bakers twin and tied a small bow.  I'm not too concerned with super tidiness on this project since it is meant to look a little rough and tough!  I used a drop of tacky glue under the handle and then a piece of dimensional adhesive under the shovel part.  I've got to say I'm in love with this little box.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!  The ISBG DT has some amazing projects coming up!  I am so honored to work with this wonderful team!

Please come over and enter our first Facebook challenge, we are looking for you!
