Blue Fern Studios Embossing Powder Forest

Easter Bunny

It's Laurie again, and I'm back with another layout using the A Rustic Spring kit! I almost veered away from the traditional spring theme, but I had this extra photo of my daughter with the Easter bunny, and I really wanted to use the Prima Shabby Chic Treasures Rabbits on a layout about it, so that's what I ended up doing.

I'm also rather excited about this one because I broke out my heat tool to use with the Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink Embossing Powder Forest on the Creative Embellishments Archway and chipboard words.

The papers on this one are 49 and Market Tattered PlaygroundFab Scraps Love Grows Here, and Bo Bunny Cottontail Festive and Hippity Hop. All four collections played so nicely together!

And I did a big 'ole mixture of flowers in my embellishment clusters using the 49 and Market Blossom Blends Bluebell49 and Market Shimmer and Shine Blush Jardin Secret (my faves!), and Prima Flowers Relics & Artifacts Blushing Bouquet.

And it wouldn't be a layout of mine lately without a little bit of misting splatter. For this one, I used the Shimmerz Spritz Plum Pudding. It splattered well, but the splatters were small, so you can't really tell unless you're looking at the layout up close.

There's more to come from this collection, and I'm having fun playing around and experimenting! While you're staying tuned, don't forget to visit The International Scrapbook Garden store and purchase A Rustic Spring kit of your own!

Thanks for looking!

"Bloom" Mixed Media layout with Sandi

Hello, everyone!

Sandi Clarkson here with you today sharing my latest creation with the "A Rustic Spring" Garden Kit from The International Scrapbook Garden.

This time around my project is looking a bit more Easter-y in color. While I love everything Easter, I tend to shy away from the normal spring pastels or even the Mardi Grad colors that you see here in this layout. Jewel tones are hard for me sometimes.

The photo from last Easter is of my granddaughter MollyGrace, who has a rare disorder, with only a 100 or so cases reported in the medical literature. She has made great progress since coming here from China and we are blessed with her sweet, funny spirit.

For my base, I've chosen the 49 and Market Tattered Flourish paper and prepared it with clear gesso, then added crackle paste both applied with a palette knife as well as through the stencil from the kit. Then I added some random stamping with the KaiserCraft stamp.

For photo layers I used the BoBunny Cottontail Hippity Hop paper which has the cutest Spring-themed notecards., including cute bunnies that you can't see, hahah! To lift my photo, I've used cardboard from the mailing box then tucked in some of the 49 and Market Bluebell blooms.

While that crackle paste was drying, I got busy altering my chipboard pieces. The large title piece was prepped with gesso, then colorized with distress ink and finally altered with Blue Fern Studios Fern embossing powder. For sparkle, I added one of the Finnabair glitters in a matching shade of green. Love the little shaker bottles these come in .. finally an easy way to use glitter!

The white frame was primed with gesso, then embossed with Blue Fern's Snow Embossing powder and completed with more of the Finnabair glitter in purple. Of course as I added my final touches to the layout, I dabbled some on the frame for a nice blended feeling.

I was sure to include some of the resin pieces from Prima, the little bunny and the little chick. From there it was fun tucking in my florals and pearls. For further dimension, I added art stones from my stash and adorned them further with the Finnabair microbeads.

For final blending I again used the Finnabair Sunny Yellow Mica Powder, then splattered the Kaisercraft Blackberry mist as well as white stain from my stash.

To complete the project, I've used bits and pieces from almost all the Bonus Kits as well as the Main Kit. Everything mixes and matches so seamlessly .. scrapbook heaven! Here a photo of the Main Kit:

I hope you'll visit the online STORE at The International Scrapbook Garden and pick up a kit or two. I'm loving all of it for sure!

" Dream Garden" layout with Sandi ~ A Rustic Spring Garden Kit

49 and Market, The Garden KitTracie ShumanComment

Hello, there!
Sandi here today.

It's been a beautiful Spring weekend here in Texas and I've enjoyed some wonderful outdoor time ... as well as finished off my first Design Team project using the new March-April Garden Kit from International Scrapbook Garden. The Main Kit is called "A Rustic Spring" and features some yummy 49 and Market papers as well as Fabscraps Life is Beautiful.  And of course, tons of embellies and add-ons.

For this project I chose to use this sweet photo of twin grandsons Samuel and Silas from last summer. Loved how dirty and disheveled they got playing in the dirt! Sweet.  So, I went with all the blues and corals that I could find within the Main Kit and add-ons and then threw in some of the Finnabair Sunny Yellow Mica Powder for a burst of warm color. I'm so pleased with the outcome!

Since the boys were so dirty, grandma had to take a turn and get out the mixed media. The background was prepared with clear gesso and then color was added with some blue mist from my stash.  An older Prima stencil was used for crackle texture. And lots of stamping! After that was dry, I began building my layers of embellishments.

The coral flowers from 49 and Market are gorgeous and work perfectly for this masculine page, especially with some of the blue flowers mixed in.  Here you can see the sweet resin pieces which are perfect for the upcoming Easter season but work okay for my outdoor loving boys.

This sweet embellishment was in one of the flower packets and I snagged it for this project. The circular chipboard frame is also 49 and Market and was left unaltered. However, I did emboss the Creative Embellishments title piece. Then added some glow with that Sunny Yellow.

More flowers and color and the Creative Embellishments Trumpet Vine Flourish which was cut apart and embossed with Forest Green. The Finnabair Microbeads were added as well as some of the Sunny Yellow color from the mica powder.

Another view.

Since I had extra sunny yellow paint, I added it all around somewhat as you would do with gesso to blend.

I adore the Antique Street Sign which I'm using for a title.
Everything came together beautifully.
