Bloom Where You Are Planted

Hi, guys, it's Laurie! I'm still creating with my Rustic Spring kit from The International Scrapbook Garden. I kept the 49 and Market flowers pink and red on this layout featuring some photos of my daughter from last year.

I used a 13@rts paper as the background and then created a grid using Fab ScrapsBo Bunny, and 49 and Market papers from the kit. The grid design was inspired by a National Scrapbook Day challenge. How many of you participated in challenges that day or at least got a lot of scrapping done?

I used some of the Creative EmbellishmentsKaisercraft, and 49 and Market chipboard that came in the kit, and I either embossed it with the Imagine Ink Forest Embossing Powder, sprayed it with the Kaisercraft Blackberry spray, stamped it with some Ingvild Bolme chalk ink (one color came from an older ISBG kit), or painted it with the Shimmerz Inklingz Coral Reef.

This came together very easily, and I had fun layering and clustering all of the embellishments. I used my hot glue gun to adhere the embellishments to the page for added strength.

It took a little longer to complete this layout, only because I had to wait for the chipboard to dry before putting it on the page, but I think the extra effort was well worth it.

The Rustic Spring kit is still available to purchase in the shop, so check it out!

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful Music

Today's scrapbook layout doesn't feature any people! Instead I went back through my photos from last April when my husband and I went to Vermont. And I thought that the patterned papers in the Rustic Spring kit were perfect for these two photos of our very brief visit to The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.

RusticSpringLL4.jpg

Yes, this is the same Trapp Family that inspired The Sound of Music! We may or may not have played "The hills are alive with the sound of music" while looking out at that scenery where we parked the car.

RusticSpringLL4b.jpg

The green background paper is 49 and Market Tattered Garden Tattered Path, and the paper with the purple flowers and writing on it is 13@rts Vintage Moments Lavender Fields. So to go along with the lavender, I used up the rest of the 49 and Market Bluebell flowers from last week's layout, plus the Kaisercraft Paper Blooms Amethyst, and the 49 and Market Vintage Shades Yellow.

I also used the Prima Microbeads Grass to line the upper angle of the 13@rts paper. (I am actually almost out of those things!) And the photos are backed with some of the burlap.

Hidden among the embellishment clusters you'll also find the Prima Flowers Butterflies and some of the jute cord all wound up.

RusticSpringLL4d.jpg

I also used the Kaisercraft Blackberry mist to spray that cool honeycomb shape from the 49 and Market Archival Board Set just to add a little bit of extra visual interest behind the photos and embellishments.

I didn't do a scrapbook process video for this one, but I think I covered everything in this blog post. Thanks for looking, and don't forget to visit The International Scrapbook Garden store to purchase your own A Rustic Spring kit!

Hi, Victoria back again with another card from the Fairy Garden Kit: A Rustic Spring Bonus Paper for card making.  I did grab on element to alter from the last kit and added a key from my personal stash otherwise you can make this exactly with items from the jam packed kit!  The burlap is cut from a generous piece in the main kit, and you'll find the twine and flowers in the main kit.  I modified the flower a little by painting it with the Coral Reef Inklingz from the Mixed Media Kit for the month.  I also altered a circle behind the clock face and flower, just peeking out with the Sunny Yellow Mica Powder from Prima.  What an amazing product when used with crazing collage paste.

The Ingredients for the card:
White card stock card
Patterned Paper: 4 x 5 1/4 inches
Patterned paper three 3/8 inch strips cut to graduating length
Patterned paper:  Circle painted with distress collage medium and sprinkled with Prima Mica Powder
Burlap: 3 x 3 inch square fray the edges with your fingers as desired
Prima: Resin Clock face painted with Coral Reef Inklingz and distress collage medium in crazing
Kaiser craft Paper Bloom:  Painted lightly with Coral Reef Inklingz
Twine
Key

Layer as shown.  I used Mod Podge as my primary adhesive to adhere all of the parts to the card.
The embellishment is burlap, decorated circle, clock, key, flower and twine.

Have a fun time creating!

See you again soon!
